As usual, the incorporation of keyboards that make the themes more epic makes the lyrics of this Power Metal band have catchy choruses. "Battle Of Life" lyrics deal with internal conflicts and war - focusing on changing perspective, conquering fears and invoking inner strength. These topics also serve as inspiration for the impressive lyric video that is released together today!
“Battle Of Life” is one of the 10 new wartime anthems on the band’s new album, Invaders, out via Napalm Records on June 17, 2022. Detailing harrowing stories of sorrow and tales of turbulent triumph from around the globe, as well as human nature itself, the album marks the band’s first with masterful frontman Kelly Sundown Carpenter and formidable shredder Thobbe Englund (ex-Sabaton).
Kelly Sundown Carpenter (vocalist) on “Battle Of Life”:
“This song is about perseverance and finding the courage to stand back up after we fall, and how our perception changes everything. If you can change the way you see the world…you change the world.”
"Civil War" enters its fourth battle with the Invaders?
Yes it's true, the album starts with the catchy theme "Oblivion", thus making the invitation to the listener to the world of an exotic and menacing sound, experiencing the vivencia, we can even say apocalyptic. It is no longer news that between the strong vocals and heavy riffs, that we enter a world full of conquests!
The symphonic power in "Invaders" continues with a fantastic war anthem in "Dead Man's Glory", going back to the historical Irish resistance, fighting to preserve their way of life against the Viking invasion.
But the epic tales don't end there, the legendary Native American victory in "Battle of the Wabash", "Hearth of Darkness" before we get to "Andersonville", in which he recounts the horrors of the POW camp, Confederates of Andersonville prison through a letter from a Union soldier to his wife.
A powerful symphonic ballad with a mix of choirs and emotive vocals. "Battle of Life" thus delivers the "Invaders" album an apotheotic ending, thus summoning and inviting listeners from all walks of life to persevere and call upon inner strength in times of trouble. In keeping with the album's theme, the Western-inspired heavy metal battle cry "Custer's Last Stand" sees its 10th anniversary re-recorded and re-released as a bonus track, entrancing the listener with Carpenter's passionate vocal delivery, guitar playing harmonics, keyboard fanfares and tribal drums. With "Invaders," CIVIL WAR proves once again that it has carved out a position of its own in the annals of modern power and heavy metal, while also proving its storytelling prowess and talent for engaging lyricism. Invaders is a must-listen!
